Already in ancient times, there were thousands of bee trees or hollow trees in Courland, from which honey was collected by Couronians. The beekeeper Jānis Vainovskis with more than 20 years of experience in beekeeping has a mobile apiary; he relocates the roughly 300 bee colonies multiple times during the season. “Kāres” is a place to taste, buy and get hands-on experience in honey production.
