In this modern exhibition, visitors can explore the Karšuva Forest, the meandering Viešvilė stream, and the surrounding wetlands. Learn about the importance of dead trees and the insects that inhabit them. Discover why the water of the Viešvilė stream is brown and see a 1,000-year-old peat bog cross-section. Children will enjoy a variety of interactive tasks. Since most of the Nature Reserve is strictly protected and inaccessible to visitors, you can virtually explore its environment by guiding an interactive ladybird spider. Additionally, you will have the rare opportunity to visit Lithuania’s only capercaillie breeding centre, dedicated to restoring the population of this majestic bird – a symbol of national prestige and an indicator of ancient forest conservation.
