VISITOR CENTRE OF ANYKŠČIAI REGIONAL PARK

Visitor centers

The Visitor Centre is the gateway to Anykščiai Regional Park – the perfect place to plan your journey and begin exploring the area. The Centre hosts nature and cultural events, seminars, and a permanent interactive exhibition showcasing the Park’s unique treasures and providing valuable travel information. The main theme of the exhibition A Celebrated Natural and Cultural Heritage is revealed through numerous literary works. The information about natural and cultural values is presented in a modern and non-traditional way, in both Lithuanian and English. For curious visitors who enjoy not only reading but also viewing, the exhibition offers a wealth of interesting photos, geological curiosities, and archaeological artifacts found in the Anykščiai region! The exhibition also features a lot of audio-visual material. The interactive maps provide precise locations of objects, their detailed descriptions, including photos and video clips. With just a few touches, you will learn about values protected in the Regional Park’s reserves and sanctuary. You will also hear narrated legends and tales about the region’s sacred trees, mystical boulders, and mysterious places… Literature lovers can enjoy audio recordings of famous Lithuanian literary works inspired by Anykščiai. Comfortably settled on soft “stones”, you can enjoy animated films, documentaries, and various video clips about the Anykščiai region. You will have the opportunity to see the beauty of the region from a bird’s-eye view! The Visitor Centre and the Anykščiai Regional Park Directorate are located within the historic Anykščiai manor site, dating back to the 16th – 17th centuries. The building, which currently houses the Directorate and Visitor Centre, was originally a school built in 1883 and renovated in 2010. Famous Lithuanian literature classics, such as Jonas Biliūnas and Antanas Žukauskas-Vienuolis, studied here. After discovering the Park’s heritage, hiking, cycling, and water trails, local dining and accommodation options, you will be able to travel around the Regional Park, try out the trails, and visit the values that interest you.

Fully accessible for visitors with disabilities.
