VISITOR CENTRE OF VEISIEJAI REGIONAL PARK

Visitor centers

The Visitor Centre of Veisiejai Regional Park features an indoor exhibition Life Between Waters, showcasing the Park’s unique landscape and rich heritage. Visitors can learn about the Park’s scenic highlights, including the hilly Šlavantai region, the Ančia landscape, and the lake-dotted areas of Kapčiamiestis and Veisiejai. The exhibition covers the Park’s history, natural environment, cultural heritage, and tourism opportunities. The Visitor Centre is located in a historic building – the right wing of the former Veisiejai Manor Estate. Originally, the manor complex was designed in a U-shape, featuring Classicist architecture with elements reminiscent of the Baroque era, and symmetrically positioned in front of the church. The right wing is the only surviving part of this once-grand estate, making it one of the oldest buildings not just in Veisiejai, but also in the surrounding area. The main residential estate was built in the early 17th century and completed in the early 18th century, during which it was owned by the Masalski noble family. In the 19th century, the estate belonged to the Oginski noble family.
