VISITOR CENTRE OF NEMUNAS DELTA REGIONAL PARK

Visitor centers

The main theme of the Visitor Centre’s exhibition is Where Nemunas Branches Out. The entire Nemunas Delta is an intricate hydrological network, with the mighty Nemunas River splitting into branches that embrace Rusnė Island. Visitors can visualize this fascinating natural formation right beneath their feet, as it is displayed on the floor. Creativity and innovation make this exhibition a truly engaging experience. With the help of modern technology, an interactive map presents the region’s natural and cultural heritage, key attractions, nature trails, and unique routes. A digital terminal allows visitors to test their ornithological knowledge by identifying bird species. One of the most exciting features is a special booth where visitors can sit in a smart chair and experience the sensation of flying like a bird. Additionally, guests can explore a replica of a Kurėnas, an ancient fishing boat, touch its sail, or read about its rich history. The exhibition recreates the effect of ice block formations caused by floods, while an interactive game challenges visitors to drain the coastal meadows. Children will enjoy identifying the various birds of the Nemunas Delta, and perhaps even discovering a new species!
