The Stone Rotunda in Olecko is a monumental memorial to the victims of World War I. According to some theories, it was built on the site of an ancient Yotvingian cult place. It was built between 1925 and 1927. The rotunda is semi-circular in shape, with six pointed arches, built from local fieldstone on a hill above Lake Didysis Olecko.
During the interwar period, the Rotunda was part of a large recreation and sports complex and a gathering place. It is one of the few monuments in the region dedicated to the memory of World War I. The monument is impressive for its size and austere stone architecture.
