PANEMUNIAI REGIONAL PARK VISITOR CENTER

Visitor centers

The Panemuniai Regional Park Visitor Center is located in the historic Šilinė Tavern building, next to the Kaunas–Jurbarkas road. The modern exhibition “The Nemunas and Life Along It” presents the nature of the Nemunas valley, its wildlife, and the crafts of the people who lived here for centuries.
Visitors can learn about river navigation, log rafting, fishing traditions, and boat building. The most interesting exhibit is a fragment of the bottom of an 18th-century vytinė — the only one of its kind preserved in Lithuania.
Here you can try interactive terminals, hear the voices of Nemunas birds, walk across rafts, or experience the sensation of floating in a boat.
The visitor center is surrounded by the impressive Panemuniai landscape with hillforts, Renaissance castles, and old manor sites.
Next to the center begins the Šilinė Botanical Reserve’s educational trail, which leads through meadows with rare trees and steppe-like clearings.
The regional park preserves the natural and cultural heritage of the Nemunas valley, hosting festivals and traditional events.

Those wishing to support protected areas can purchase a visitor ticket, contributing to environmental conservation.
The Panemuniai Regional Park organizes educational programs, excursions, and hikes — more information can be found at:
