VISITOR CENTRE OF PANEMUNIAI REGIONAL PARK

Visitor centers

The Visitor Centre of Panemuniai Regional Park hosts the exhibition The Nemunas River and Life Along It, which showcases the region’s nature, culture, and traditional riverside livelihoods. Visitors can explore the diverse flora and fauna of the Nemunas River and its valley, even listening to the voices of its wildlife. The exhibit highlights the centuries-old harmony between people and nature and introduces the region’s traditional crafts – fishing, navigation, log rafting, and boatbuilding. One of the most unique attractions here is a rare historical artifact – the only surviving fragment of an 18th-century vytinė, a traditional Lithuanian riverboat that once sailed the Nemunas River. Visitors can also try out navigation tools, walk on floating logs, experience the sensation of rowing a boat, or test their skills as trackers.

OPENING HOURS:

  • Sunday and Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Saturday: 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM

The Visitor Centre is closed on public holidays. On the day before a public holiday, the Centre closes one hour earlier.
