Visitor centers

The National Visitor Centre of Protected Areas serves as a gateway to Lithuania’s most treasured natural sites. Its interactive exhibition offers insights into what we protect and why, highlighting the growing importance of nature conservation for humanity. Here, visitors can explore Lithuania’s most valuable natural areas, discover scenic routes, and embark on their own journeys through the country’s diverse landscapes.

More than just informative, the exhibition captivates with immersive visual elements. Upon entering, visitors feel surrounded by nature – lush meadows, birds, and chirping grasshoppers create a lifelike atmosphere, while clouds drift overhead. You can imagine yourself in a meadow or deep in the forest, engaging your senses through touch, sound, and sight.

The Centre also provides an in-depth look at Lithuania’s protected areas, revealing that the country is home to 5 national parks, 30 regional parks, 3 state nature reserves, 2 cultural reserves, approximately 300 sanctuaries, and over 400 state-protected natural heritage sites.

The exceptional value of national and regional parks, as well as reserves, is showcased not only through stunning visuals but also through real artifacts. In the bat cave-inspired cinema hall, visitors can watch films while being immersed in the mysterious sounds of the wild.

Interactive terminals offer fascinating details about Lithuania’s protected areas, helping visitors uncover the country’s most remarkable natural treasures.
