LAZDIJAI REGIONAL MUSEUM

Museums

The Lazdijai Regional Museum is located in one of the oldest buildings in the city – the former Seina “Žiburio” Gymnasium. Here, you can visit the authentic “Old Gymnasium Classroom,” where visitors can sit at ancient desks, write with a goose feather quill, and feel like students from the interwar period. The museum houses over 43,000 exhibits, including archaeological findings, historical documents, copies of old maps, and a model of the interwar Lazdijai town.
On the second floor, visitors are greeted by an exhibition dedicated to poet Salomėja Nėris, who lived in Lazdijai from 1928 to 1931. The museum also offers various educational activities, from candle making, crafting masks for the Užgavėnės festival, archaeological excavations, to weaving. More information about educational programs can be found at here https://lazdijumuziejus.lt/lazdiju-krasto-muziejaus-edukaciniai-uzsiemimai/.
