The Jegliniec hillfort is located atop the Pilekalnis moraine hill (224.4 m above sea level), on the Polish-Lithuanian border, near a farmstead. The oval courtyard (approximately 40 x 20 m), divided by a rampart into northern and southern sections, is surrounded by massive ramparts, with a possible gate and defensive tower to the south. A natural, modified causeway leads to the hillfort from the north. Traces of additional fortifications are visible at its foot. The structure, dating from the 10th–13th centuries, was built on older traces of settlement from the Iron Age and the Roman period. Known in literature since the late 18th century as Jegliniec. Although privately owned, the hillfort is open to the public.
