Konikowo hill fort is located approximately 2.5 km south of Gołdap, on Zamkowa Góra Hill (242 m above sea level), part of Gołdap Mountain. It comprises an oval courtyard with an area of approximately 1,400 m², surrounded by a single defensive rampart approximately 160 m long, the best-preserved from the north, east, and south. Entrance was through a former gate on the eastern side. Despite damage from World War II, the hill fort retains its original layout. The site, known in literature since the 18th century as Goldap , Klein Wronken , and misleadingly, Rostek, is currently not developed for tourism. Visiting is possible, although there is no designated trail.
