The Beekeeping Exhibition in Musteika Village – a unique opportunity to touch one of the oldest traditions. Here, the ancient method of beekeeping is revived, where bees are kept in natural tree hollows and stump hives. Established in 2006, the apiary offers a chance to see how a beekeeper cares for bees, collects honey and wax, and learns how stump hives and traps for swarming bees are made. Visitors can participate in educational activities and discover how beekeepers use traditional methods to reach the bee families living in tree hollows.
Next to the exhibition, a new beekeeper’s house is being built, inviting even more in-depth exploration of this craft.
Here, you can not only taste fresh honey but also try ancient crafts – from weaving to crafting beekeeping tools. The exhibition is complemented by an educational trail of beekeeping, located 5 kilometers from Musteika village, winding through centuries-old pine forests, where ancient hives can be seen. The trail stretches 3 kilometers and allows visitors to immerse themselves in wild nature, still infused with the ancient spirit of forest crafts.
