Discover the land of rivers, streams, and springs through a modern and interactive exhibition that brings to life the unique lifestyle, traditions, and historical evolution of the Merkinė region. Here, visitors can explore a stunning 3D water fish installation, interact with motion-responsive digital fish, and discover themed walls dedicated to rafting, fishing, local wildlife, and vegetation. A special spring installation adds a touch of emotion, bringing the natural essence of the region to life. The Šalcinis Gallery hosts rotating art exhibitions, featuring works by both professional artists and local folk artisans.

OPENING HOURS:

  • Tuesday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Lunch Break: 12:00 PM – 12:45 PM)
  • Saturday: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Day Pass (€5.00 per adult): Grants access to two Visitor Centres1 (Merkinė and Marcinkonys), the Ethnographic Homestead, and the Hollow-Tree Beekeeping Museum.

1Note: The guided tour service is available for 1–2 individuals or groups of up to 10 people. However, in such cases, the total fee will be calculated based on the rate for a group of 10 (i.e., the listed price per person multiplied by 10).
