AMALVA SWAMP EDUCATIONAL TRAIL

Nature / landscape

Amalva swamp Nature Trail is a paradise for nature lovers, inviting you to explore one of the largest marshes in Suvalkija. The 121-meter-long wooden trail allows you to immerse yourself in the unique expanses of the marsh, complemented by informational boards about its history, vegetation, and wildlife.
This is the shortest nature trail in Lithuania, but it certainly doesn't lack in impressions. A journey through this natural and wild corner of Sudovia feels like a true adventure of discovery.
At the beginning of the trail, there is an observation platform offering a stunning panorama of the Amalva swamp and the landscape of the Žuvintas Biosphere Reserve. The marsh is home to nearly a hundred species of birds, and the more attentive visitors might spot elk, wolves, or even rare marsh satyrs and common adders.
Amalva swamp is a perfect place for a peaceful walk, bird watching, and feeling the scent of nature that remains almost untouched by human hands. Just 15 km from Marijampolė, this trail invites you to escape the bustle of the city and experience the magic of the marsh up close.
